Documenting local sport, one event at a time
I'm Ivan Makarov, and since 2019 I've been on the sideline of East Bay youth and high school sport — cross country and track meets, hockey rinks, soccer pitches and the club events in between. I shoot it the way a journalist would: as it happens, unposed, with an eye for the moments that tell the story.
The goal isn't a portrait session. It's an honest record of the effort, the close finishes, and the small moments that get lost in the noise of game day — the frames athletes and families want to keep.
